DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has affirmed that his Movement has not received any official notification from the mediators regarding the new ceasefire proposal.
In remarks on Monday, Badran said that the ceasefire proposal that had been presented by the mediators on May 6 is still the paper approved by Hamas and other resistance factions in Gaza.
“US President Joe Biden’s recent speech on renewed talks to end the war on Gaza reflects that the Israeli occupation state and its main supporters are in a state of confusion because they thought they could break our people and defeat their resistance, but this never happened,” Badran said.
The Hamas official affirmed that Biden admitted that the occupation regime was unable to achieve any of its political and military goals in Gaza over the past months and that his administration had the means to pressure Premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his government to stop the war.
He described Netanyahu as “the only party obstructing any efforts to reach a ceasefire deal,” accusing him of being unwilling to end the war for personal and political reasons.
