GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) The Hamas Movement has declared that the killing of 251 journalists since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip constitutes a heinous crime committed by the fascist Israeli government in full view of the world, an egregious violation of international laws, treaties, and norms.
In a statement issued Friday, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian Journalist, Hamas emphasized that these brutal crimes against journalists in Gaza will not be forgotten with time. The Movement stressed that such actions will never succeed in silencing the truth or concealing the fascist crimes of the Israeli occupation and its aggression against the Palestinian people, land, and sacred sites.
Hamas held both Israel and the United States fully responsible for the ongoing crimes against Palestinian journalists and civilians in Gaza for the past 23 months.
The statement asserted that Israeli propaganda, rooted in lies and misinformation, has failed to achieve its goals and has crumbled before the just cause of the Palestinian people and their unwavering resilience and legitimate rights.
Hamas expressed deep appreciation for the global solidarity shown toward Palestinian journalists and media workers, and called on Arab, Islamic, and international media outlets to continue covering Israel’s crimes and to stand firmly with the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of its people.
It also called upon international press unions and journalist associations to step up their support for Palestinian journalists and to exert pressure on Israel to allow international media access to Gaza to report the truth to the world.
Furthermore, Hamas urged the international community and human rights organizations to condemn Israel’s crimes against journalists in Palestine and to initiate legal action in international courts against Israeli leaders for committing war crimes in Gaza.
Finally, the Movement paid tribute to the journalist martyrs who were killed in the Israeli aggression while fulfilling their noble media mission and extended pride and respect to all journalists who continue to uncover the truth and expose the crimes of the Israeli occupation to the world.
