JENIN(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas Movement said on Monday evening that the Israeli occupation army’s shooting attack on journalists today while they were covering the Israeli military operation in Jenin represents state terrorism-sponsored aimed at obscuring the truth.
Hamas said in a statement, “The Israeli occupation army prevents journalists from fulfilling their duty in conveying the suffering of the Palestinian people and the brutal crimes committed by the Nazi occupation government.”
The Movement praised the brave journalists in Gaza and the West Bank for insisting on covering the aggression, despite the violations and crimes they are exposed to including the martyrdom of dozens of them.
Hamas called on international press institutions to condemn the repeated Israeli crimes against Palestinian journalists, and to exert efforts to expose them by all means possible.
Earlier today, Israeli army opened fire on press crews in the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, and chased them with bulldozers, as part of its ongoing operation for the sixth day in the city and its camp.
The Israeli military aggression and invasion of the city and camp of Jenin continues for the 6th consecutive day, coinciding with raids and storming of citizens’ homes and blowing up some of them, in addition to forcing citizens to flee their homes inside the camp.
For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the number of martyrs who have been killed in the Israeli occupation’s raids on the West Bank has, since last Wednesday, reached 29 martyrs and 121 injuries, 18 martyrs in Jenin, four in Tubas, four in Tulkarem, and three in al-Khalil.
The Ministry of Health revealed that the death toll in the West Bank governorates have risen, since October 7 last year, to 681 martyrs, including five children and two elderly persons, and about 5,700 wounded.
