OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)
The Hamas Movement has said that the continued demolition of Palestinian homes by Israeli occupation authorities in occupied Jerusalem, the latest being the demolition of the home of citizen Musa Badran in the town of Silwan, represents “a new chapter in the series of Judaization crimes targeting the city and its people.”
Haroun Nasser al-Din, a member of Hamas’s Political Bureau, explained in a statement on Wednesday that these violations fall within the framework of the occupation’s policy of forced displacement, aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their land and erasing the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem.
He affirmed that the policy of demolition and displacement “will not succeed in breaking the will of Jerusalemites, but will instead strengthen their determination to remain steadfast and hold on to their homes and land, despite the restrictions and persecution they face.”
The head of the Jerusalem Affairs Office warned of the grave situation in the holy city, in light of the continued assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increasing incursions by settlers. He called on the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the free people of the world, to take urgent action to stop these violations and protect the holy sites.
He also called on the Palestinian people to strengthen their presence in Jerusalem and to activate all forms of popular and on-the-ground resistance to the occupation’s schemes aimed at Judaizing the city and uprooting its indigenous residents.
