GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has mourned Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and a number of senior Iranian political and military officials, who were martyred in a “treacherous and brutal Zio-American aggression” targeting the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Saturday morning.
In a statement on Sunday, Hamas offered its sincerest condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, and its people over the martyrdom of Khamenei and top leaders.
The statement also mourned the loss of Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Shamkhani, Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guard Mohamed Pakpour, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Abdul-Rahim Mousavi.
Hamas considered the Zio-American attack on Iran “glaring aggression against an independent state’s sovereignty,” and a “flagrant violation of all international norms and laws,” warning that it endangers regional and global peace and security.
Hamas hailed the legacy of Khamenei, saying he “strongly supported the Palestinian people and their national cause politically, diplomatically, popularly, and militarily for decades, despite the pressures, blockade, and conspiracies Iran has faced because of its positions in support of Palestine, Gaza, Jerusalem, and the Aqsa Mosque, especially during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.”
Hamas held the US administration and the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for the consequences of their aggression against Iran, warning that what happened would “fuel further regional crises and conflicts that serve only the Zionist agendas of expansion, domination, and control.”
Hamas called on Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the international community, to act urgently and take serious and firm positions against the escalating Zio-American crimes and violations in the region.
The Movement expressed solidarity with Iran, praying for “the martyrs who fell defending their land, rights, and sovereignty.”
