GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) The Hamas Movement has affirmed that it has never been an obstacle to reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, refuting statements by US President Donald Trump, who claimed that Hamas is the party rejecting ceasefire proposals in Gaza.
In a statement issued Tuesday evening, Hamas said it had demonstrated all necessary flexibility and positivity in negotiations, and that the American administration, mediators, and the international community are fully aware that the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu is the sole obstruction to all efforts to reach a deal.
Hamas emphasized that Netanyahu sabotaged the January (2025) agreement and completely ignored the “Witkoff Proposal,” to which the Movement had agreed. Worse, he committed a heinous crime by bombing the meeting site of the Hamas negotiation delegation in Doha while they were reviewing Trump’s latest proposal.
The Movement called on the US administration to stand on the side of justice and play a constructive role by compelling the Israeli occupation government to halt its genocidal war, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement of the Palestinian people, and to withdraw its political and military cover from this brutal assault.
