GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has reiterated its rejection of any presence of military forces in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the US-built floating pier in Gaza City must not be a substitute for land crossings that are used for the delivery of all humanitarian needs to the coastal enclave.
Any means of aid delivery, including the aid pier, is not a substitute for the opening of all land crossings under Palestinian supervision, Hamas said in a statement on Friday.
The Movement emphasized the Palestinians’ right to receive all their needs in light of the humanitarian catastrophe that was caused by the Israeli occupation during its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
Trucks carrying aid for the Gaza Strip started rolling across the newly built US pier and into the besieged enclave for the first time Friday as the Israeli occupation army’s restrictions on border crossings and its ongoing bombardment hindered the delivery of food and other vital supplies through the Rafah border crossing.
