GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Hamas delegation, headed by the Chairman of Hamas’s Shura Council and Chairman of its Leadership Council, Muhammad Darwish, received the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Friday.
The two sides discussed the ongoing war in Gaza and the repercussions of the most recent regional and international developments.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the developments of the Israeli aggression and the efforts exerted to support the Palestinian people, especially in the northern Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to most heinous Israeli attacks, in addition to the latest efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement to pave the way for prisoners’ exchange.
Darwish reviewed the current situation in the Strip, especially the humanitarian crisis in the northern Strip due to the ongoing Israeli siege for about sixty days and the daily massacres in this area.
He also touched on the Israeli occupation’s violations in the West bank and Jerusalem as well as the conditions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.
The Hamas official presented the outcome of the Egypt-sponsored national meetings that took place in Cairo between the delegations of the Fatah and Hamas movements and informed Fidan with Hamas’s approval of the Egyptian proposal to form an administrative support committee for the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Fidan confirmed during the meeting his country’s position on the Palestinian issue, pointing to the efforts made by the Republic of Türkiye, asserting that it is using all its diplomatic capabilities to mobilize the international community towards pushing for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the humanitarian catastrophe witnessed in the beleaguered enclave.
