DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Deputy Chairman of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and head of the Movement’s Arab and Islamic Relations Office, Khalil al-Hayya, announced that the Movement had received on Saturday the Israeli official response to its ceasefire proposal which was delivered to the Egyptian and Qatari mediators on April 13.
“Hamas will study the response. Once this is done, it will reply,” Al-Hayya said in a brief statement at dawn on Saturday.
Hamas reiterated its adherence to its demands and the national demands of the people: a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the entire Gaza Strip, the return of the displaced Gazans to their areas and places of residence, intensifying the entry of relief and aid, and the start of reconstruction.
The Movement also reiterated its readiness to conclude a serious prisoner exchange deal between the two parties.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, in addition to the displacement of two million people and a massive destruction of homes and infrastructure that affected more than 70% of the buildings, amid suffocating siege, a stifling humanitarian crisis, and an unprecedented famine, especially in Gaza City and its northern areas.
