GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said the calls of the alleged Temple groups urging settlers to bring sacrifices and slaughter them inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the so-called Hebrew Passover represent a dangerous escalation.
Hamas stressed, in a press statement on Friday, that these calls represent a continuation of the approach pursued by Israeli occupation forces and settlers to target and Judaize Islamic sanctities.
It warned of the repercussions of these extremist calls, stressing that they “will not change the identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and will not give the occupation any legitimacy or right over it.”
Hamas called on the Arab and Islamic masses “to defend and support the Al-Aqsa Mosque by all possible means, as this is the duty of the time, especially at this sensitive stage in which the occupation is escalating its dangerous Judaization plans.”
It also called on Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the 1948 occupied territories to “mobilize and stay in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to thwart settlers’ plans, and to prevent any attempt to slaughter sacrifices or perform Talmudic rituals in it.”
Settlers and rabbis renew their calls every year to allow slaughtering sacrificial animals in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish Passover holiday, which falls this year on the 12th of this month.
