RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas described the ramming operation targeting the Hashmonaim checkpoint west of Ramallah as heroic, represents a strong blow to the Israeli occupation and a legitimate response to its ongoing crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.
Hamas emphasized in a statement on Wednesday evening that the “heroic operation embodies the steadfast will of the people and their determination to confront the occupation, regardless of the sacrifices, and their rejection of oppression and aggression in all its forms.”
The Movement pointed out that the continuation of resistance operations in the West Bank is clear evidence of the people’s ability to inflict pain on the occupation and deter its aggression, despite its desperate attempts to extinguish the flame of resistance through savage incursions and repression carried out by the occupation forces in cooperation with some security agencies.
Hamas affirmed that the Palestinian people’s resistance and their confrontation of the occupation, as well as targeting its settlers, will not cease as long as the occupation is present on Palestinian land.
In the conclusion of its statement, the Movement called for escalating resistance efforts in all forms, intensifying the state of confusion for the occupation, and undermining its security and stability, asserting that the people will continue to make the enemy pay a heavy price for its crimes and brutality against the land and humanity.
Earlier yesterday, an Israeli soldier was injured following a ramming operation executed by a Palestinian youth near the Nili settlement west of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
