GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement emphasized that the Israeli criminal bombing that targeted a group of Palestinian journalists in their tent near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza Strip, which led to the burning to death of journalist Hilmi al-Faqaawi and the young man Youssef al-Khazindar, in addition to the injury of nine other journalists, some of whom are in a state of serious danger, is a heinous crime and a shameful continuation of Israel’s flagrant violations of all international laws and conventions.
Hamas said in a statement on Monday, “The continuous targeting of Palestinian journalists, and the occupation army’s execution of 210 journalists in Gaza since the start of this brutal genocide, comes within the framework of the occupation’s frantic efforts to blur the truth about what is happening in Gaza, and to terrorize journalists and dissuade them from performing their duty, encouraged by a state of unprecedented international silence in modern history.”
Hamas stressed that the international community, the United Nations and its institutions, especially the Security Council, have a historic duty to stand in the face of these crimes, massacres and violations committed by the government of the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu against journalists and all segments protected by international laws, including innocent civilians, ambulance and rescue crews, relief workers and others.
Hamas called on journalists around the world and international press and media organizations “to expose the occupation’s crimes against Palestinian journalists, and to stand in solidarity with them in the face of the brutal war of annihilation that the Zionist enemy continues to wage on the Gaza Strip.”
