GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas Movement described what was recorded in the footage aired by Al Jazeera—showing an Israeli drone targeting a civilian carrying a sack of flour on his back in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza City—as a “sadistic and brutal act.”
In a statement issued on Sunday Hamas said, “These scenes document a moment from a heinous crime committed daily by the fascist occupation army, which targets starving people searching for food, amid a suffocating blockade and systematic starvation imposed by the war criminal Netanyahu’s government for nearly four months.”
The statement added that what the footage revealed was “a sadistic and brutal act by a criminal army stripped of all ethics or humanity, with no regard for values or laws.”
It continued, “Since the imposition of this rogue state on our Palestinian land, the Israeli occupation army has persistently killed innocent children, women, and elderly people, and has committed the most horrific violations against humanity.”
Hamas stressed that these ongoing and unprecedented crimes, including the systematic targeting of starving civilians and the continuous massacres against civilians throughout the Gaza Strip, require the international community, its institutions, and the human conscience to take serious action to stop them and hold the fascist perpetrators accountable before international courts.
Al Jazeera aired footage of a young man walking in northern Shuja’iyya with a sack of flour on his back before being struck by an Israeli missile.
Meanwhile, the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip reported that the number of martyrs killed in the Israeli attacks against those awaiting aid has reached approximately 580, with 4,216 injuries and 39 missing persons.
In its statement, the Media Office condemned the continuous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army against starving civilians.
It held Israel and the countries involved in the genocide of civilians in Gaza—most notably the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany—fully responsible, both legally and historically, for perpetrating and supporting the genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
