GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement said that any genuine international effort to achieve stability in Gaza must be based on addressing the root cause of the crisis, namely the Israeli occupation, ending its aggressive policies, and enabling the Palestinian people to fully realize their rights without limitation.
In a statement issued in response to the convening of a Peace Council session on Gaza in the United States, Hamas stressed that any political process or arrangements concerning Gaza and the future of the Palestinian people must begin with a complete cessation of hostilities, the lifting of the blockade, and the guarantee of legitimate national rights, foremost among them the right to freedom and self-determination.
The Movement emphasized that holding such a session amid ongoing violations and continued breaches of the ceasefire by Israeli forces places responsibility on the international community and participating parties to take concrete steps. These include compelling Israel to halt its military operations, reopen border crossings, allow the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid, and initiate immediate reconstruction efforts.
Hamas also called on international actors and mediators to assume their responsibilities in ensuring the implementation of agreed terms, preventing any obstruction of humanitarian and political obligations, and working seriously toward establishing a permanent ceasefire.
