Hamas urges UN “Board of Peace” to stop Israel’s ceasefire violations

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has urged the US-led Board of Peace to take urgent action at its upcoming meeting in Washington to halt Israel’s ongoing violations of the Gaza ceasefire, calling on the body to turn its stated principles into concrete measures on the ground.

In a video message on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem noted that during the past four months, the Israeli occupation army has not ended its genocidal war on Gaza, but merely changed its tools and methods.

Qasem affirmed that the Israeli war persists unabated, with killings, displacement, siege, and starvation continuing to this day.

The spokesman called on the Board of Peace, set to hold its first meeting on February 19, to move beyond rhetoric and adopt tangible measures to end Israel’s aggression against Gaza.

The spokesman warned that the Israeli occupation might use this meeting as a cover to prolong its war on Gaza and obstruct reconstruction efforts.

He also called for working on facilitating the entry of the “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza” members into the Strip to begin their duties, while supplying the resources needed to initiate true relief and reconstruction efforts that would alleviate the population’s suffering.
