GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A leader in the Hamas Movement stated that the US floating Gaza pier is misleading world public opinion regarding humanitarian aid.
Speaking to the Al-Jazeera channel, the official in the Hamas Movement stressed that the US floating pier “aims to cover up Washington’s military support for the occupation.”
The famine is increasingly spreading throughout the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing siege, he added.
“The pier did not make any practical contribution to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.”
The Hamas official reiterated that the basic demand will remain the opening of all land crossings and the entry of all humanitarian needs for the people of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian civil society organizations and trade unions have earlier sent an immediate appeal to the UN and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to declare the Gaza Strip a famine-stricken zone and take the necessary measures to protect its population as the Israeli genocidal war has entered its eighth month.
In a joint petition released a few days ago, over 40 Palestinian NGOs and unions called for declaring Gaza a region stricken by famine, environmental pollution, and spreading diseases.
