Hamas: We continue intensive efforts to end aggression, alleviate the growing suffering of our people

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement stated that key issues in the ceasefire negotiations remain unresolved, particularly the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the provision of credible guarantees for a permanent ceasefire.

In a statement issued Wednesday evening, Hamas confirmed that its leadership continues to engage in intensive and responsible efforts to ensure the success of the ongoing round of negotiations. The goal is to reach a comprehensive agreement that brings an end to the aggression, guarantees the safe and free entry of humanitarian aid, and alleviates the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The statement noted, “In its commitment to the success of these efforts, the Movement has demonstrated necessary flexibility and agreed to release ten captives.”

It further added, “Despite the difficulty of the negotiations, primarily due to the occupation’s intransigence, we continue to work seriously and constructively with mediators to overcome obstacles, end the suffering of our people, and fulfill their aspirations for freedom, security, and dignity.”

Meanwhile, Hamas leader Basem Naim reiterated the Movement’s eagerness to reach a ceasefire and end the war as soon as possible, emphasizing Hamas’s concern for the Palestinian people and their future in Gaza.

In a press statement, Naim said that Hamas has pursued this objective since the start of negotiations, but stressed that the Movement cannot accept the continuation of the occupation or the imposition of a reality in which Palestinians are confined to enclaves resembling Nazi concentration camps.

He added, “To this moment, the occupation insists on remaining in Rafah, south of the ‘Morag’ axis, and seeks to expand its military presence throughout the Gaza Strip based on the situation it has imposed since March 2, 2025.”

Naim also warned that the Israeli occupation seeks to maintain the current aid distribution mechanism, which he described as “death traps”, and continues to avoid offering any real guarantees to end the war.

He concluded by saying, “What Netanyahu failed to achieve through 22 months of war and starvation, he will not achieve at the negotiating table.”
