BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan has accused the Israeli occupation of persistently undermining the ceasefire agreement through repeated violations, while affirming that the Palestinian resistance has fully abided by all its terms despite the injustices they contained.
In a statement on Thursday, Hamdan called on the US administration to compel the Israeli occupation to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement.
Hamdan stressed that “the ball is now in the court of US president Donald Trump and his envoy, Witkoff,” adding that Washington should ensure Israel’s respect for the ceasefire agreement.
“The entire world is watching the immense humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli occupation deliberately obstructs the entry of humanitarian aid,” Hamdan said.
Hamdan reiterated his Movement’s readiness to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to the independent Palestinian committee, which has received the approval of all Palestinian factions.
The Hamas official highlighted that opening the Rafah crossing in both directions is a core requirement of the ceasefire agreement’s first phase that must be respected by the Israeli occupation.
He warned that the ongoing closure of the Rafah crossing would hinder the mission of the Gaza administration committee and further exacerbate the already dire humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
He also condemned the Israeli assassination of commander Mahmoud al-Houli, describing it as a “serious escalation,” and a reflection of Israel’s “malicious intents towards the ceasefire agreement.”
