DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas’s chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya talked over the phone with head of Türkiye’s intelligence agency Ibrahim Kalin on Sunday and discussed with him the current ceasefire talks over Gaza and other developments in the Palestinian arena.
In a statement issued by the Movement, Hayya, who is also the head of Hamas in Gaza, explained to the Turkish spy chief Hamas’s position on the recent proposal presented by US envoy Steve Witkoff, highlighting the need for a comprehensive ceasefire, the entry of aid, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
Hayya also briefed the Turkish official on the latest political contacts conducted by his Movement regarding Gaza and the ceasefire efforts.
The Hamas leader also talked about the ongoing Israeli war crimes in Gaza, including the last massacre against aid seekers in Rafah on Sunday.
Kalin, for his part, affirmed that his country would continue its efforts to achieve a full ceasefire and end the Israeli starvation campaign in Gaza.
