GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Director of Field Hospitals at Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Marwan Al-Hams, said that “the number of deaths in the Gaza Strip due to lack of resources equals the number of those killed by the Israeli occupation.”
In press statements issued on Thursday, he pointed out that “several patients who were scheduled to be evacuated for life-saving treatment abroad have died due to the Israeli occupation’s obstruction of their departure.”
“We are in dire need of field hospitals immediately, as well as medical teams, medicines, and medical equipment.”
“We were informed that field hospitals are ready to enter the Strip, and that the occupation is obstructing their entry.”
Last Saturday, the first batch of wounded Palestinians and patients left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing to undergo medical treatment in Egypt.
The first six-week phase of the ceasefire agreement took hold in Gaza on Jan. 19, halting Israel’s war that killed more than 47,500 people and left the enclave in ruins.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former army minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
