GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The health ministry in Gaza has launched an urgent distress call to the international community and relief institutions to provide electric generators for the remaining hospitals in the coastal enclave.
“We have been relying on electric generators for nine months to supply hospitals with their power needs around the clock after the destruction of the only power plant in the Gaza Strip,” the health ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
“Several electric generators in hospitals have sustained major malfunctions that are difficult to repair, while the Israeli army deliberately bombed others,” the health ministry added.
The health ministry warned that the remaining generators at hospitals, health centers, and drug storerooms would also stop operating as they need spare parts and maintenance.
It warned that many sick and wounded patients would face certain death if these generators stopped working.
