GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that the death toll from the Israeli genocide has risen to 70,665 martyrs since October 7, 2023. Hospitals in the Strip received two new martyrs and six injuries in the past 24 hours.
In a press statement, the ministry noted that since the ceasefire agreement on October 10, the toll has reached 393 martyrs while 1,068 others were injured, and 632 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble of destroyed homes.
Overall, the ministry said the ongoing genocide since October 7 has resulted in 70,665 martyrs and 171,145 injured, stressing that many victims remain under the rubble and in the streets due to the inability to reach them amid widespread destruction and lack of rescue equipment.
The ministry pointed out that most victims are children and women, while the Israeli attacks have caused massive destruction to the enclave’s infrastructure, with the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at around $70 billion.
It added that the Israeli occupation army continues to violate the agreement by preventing sufficient food and medicine from entering the besieged Gaza Strip, where about 2.4 million Palestinians live in what it described as “catastrophic” humanitarian conditions.
