NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center)Two young Palestinian men were injured in a settler attack, backed by the Israeli occupation forces, south of Nablus, on Tuesday evening.
Local sources reported that settlers brutally beat the two young men in the “Qamas” mountain area between the towns of Beita and Osrin, south of Nablus. Their medical condition remains unknown.
In a related development, the Israeli forces seized a residential building and turned it into a military outpost in the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus.
Local sources said that several Israeli military vehicles and an infantry unit stormed the home of citizen Nael Owais in the northern neighborhood of the village and converted it into a military barracks, raising Israeli flags on its rooftop.
Meanwhile, several military vehicles roamed the village streets, accompanied by foot patrols that harassed residents and restricted their movement.
The Israeli occupation has recently escalated its policy of converting Palestinian homes in the West Bank into military outposts. Residents are often forcibly evicted, their property vandalized or looted, and entire residential areas turned into closed military zones in blatant violations of international law and conventions, according to a report by the Government Information Center.
The Israeli soldiers use these homes as surveillance points, field command centers, sniper positions, or makeshift interrogation sites. In some cases, entire apartment buildings with multiple units or floors have been transformed into military compounds.
Testimonies from residents confirm they were beaten and humiliated during evictions, with personal belongings and money stolen by soldiers. In other instances, soldiers deliberately destroyed all the contents of the homes.
