SANAA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis across the country took to the streets on Friday in solidarity with the war-torn Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and in protest against the ongoing Israeli devastating war since October 2023.
Massive demonstration kicked off after Friday prayer in several Yemeni governorates under the slogan “Loyalty to the Martyr Leaders… With Gaza and Lebanon Until Victory.”
Participants in the demonstrations raised the flags of Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon as well as pictures of leaders from Hamas and Hezbollah, and chanted slogans supporting Gaza and Lebanon.
According to the Houthi satellite channel, Al-Masirah, “the capital, Sanaa, witnessed a massive march that denounced the continuation of brutal massacres, forced displacement, starvation and genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people, with Western support.”
A joint statement by the demonstrators confirmed “Yemen’s readiness for any escalation by the Americans and Israelis, regardless of the challenges and sacrifices.”
Since the beginning of this year, a US-led coalition has launched raids claimed to target “Houthi sites” in different regions of Yemen in response to its maritime attacks.
