Injuries and ongoing IOF incursions for the fourth consecutive day in Jenin

JENIN (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continue their aggression against Jenin and its refugee camp in the northern West Bank for the fourth consecutive day on Friday, amid fierce resistance.

Local sources reported that five citizens were injured last night due to gunfire from the occupation forces, who continued their raids, shooting, and widespread assaults met with resistance and explosive device detonations.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its teams transported three injuries from the Jalameh military checkpoint due to assaults by the IOF, and they treated two injuries from live bullet shrapnel in one of the shelters for displaced persons from Jenin camp, and they were transferred to the hospital.

The IOF detained several citizens in the Kharouba neighborhood after raiding the home of the Qatt family and subjected them to field interrogation.

In Jenin camp, local sources reported that IOF soldiers burned homes belonging to the Masharqa family and prevented civil defense teams from reaching the area to extinguish the fires. The sources added that the family members were displaced from their homes yesterday, while an elderly woman living on the ground floor of Walid Masharqa’s house was unable to evacuate due to her health condition and inability to walk long distances, prompting the family to call for her immediate evacuation.

The IOF also forced the family of citizen Ahmed Abu al-Heija to evacuate their home on Mahyoub Street in the camp, converting it into a military barracks.

The IOF imposed a curfew on citizens within the camp after forcing hundreds of families to leave their homes under threat of arms and by force, opening only one passage that citizens must pass through using eye and facial recognition cameras until they reach the Al-Awda roundabout west of the camp, where a tight siege was imposed, and its entrances were closed, amid threats to demolish and raze several homes.

The IOF cut off electricity to Jenin camp and large areas around it, leading to power outages at Jenin Government Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital, and prevented electricity company teams from repairing the network.

The occupation’s aggression on the city of Jenin, its camp, and the town of Burqin west of the city, which began last Tuesday afternoon, has resulted in the martyrdom of 12 citizens, including one child, and injuries to dozens of others, as well as causing massive destruction to the infrastructure.
