OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) summoned on Sunday the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, and the preacher of the Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, for interrogation, and handed him a decision barring him from entering the Mosque for a week, subject to renewal.
The Jerusalem Governorate said in a post on its Facebook page that the IOA banned the Grand Mufti of the Palestinian Territories, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, from entering the Aqsa Mosque for eight renewable days, due to his condemnation of Gaza siege and starvation during his Friday sermon.
Mufti Hussein said he was summoned by the Israeli intelligence this morning for questioning in the Old City and was handed the decision.
The Mufti also noted that “the IOA requested me to sign the ban order, but I refused.”
