OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished on Monday morning Palestinian-owned commercial facilities and other structures in east Jerusalem.
According to local sources, the IOA demolished three commercial facilities in Hizma town, northeast of Jerusalem, including a car wash and an auto accessories shop belonging to Mohamed Abu Sabah in order to expand a settler road.
The sources said that Israeli police forces showered local residents with tear gas canisters during the demolition operation in Hizma town, adding that several citizens, including children and women, suffered from gas suffocation.
Israeli bulldozers escorted by police forces also destroyed structures, a park and a volleyball court in the Palestinian town of Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem.
The bulldozers also leveled swaths of agricultural land, razed fences, and uprooted trees in the same area of Mikhmas town.
