OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished on Tuesday morning a Palestinian building in as-Salam suburb in the northeast of Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
According to local sources, a bulldozer escorted by Israeli police forces stormed Ras Shahada neighborhood in as-Salam suburb and embarked on knocking down a building under construction belonging to Iyad al-Qasrawi.
The sources added that the IOA also bulldozed roads in the suburb, while Israeli police officers obstructed the movement of students as they were trying to reach their schools.
Like in the West Bank, the IOA systematically demolishes Palestinian homes and structures in east Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction, while it prevents the local residents from obtaining permits or makes it difficult for them to meet construction conditions.
