The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished on Tuesday morning two Palestinian homes in the northwest of Ramallah and east Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
According to local sources in Ramallah, an Israeli bulldozer escorted by soldiers and employees from the Israeli army’s civil administration stormed al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya town and embarked on knocking down a house belonging to a local resident.
The owner said that the Israeli army demolished his house with no prior notice, adding that the house had been built over 20 years ago.
In east Jerusalem, the Israeli municipality demolished a house belonging to the family of Totah in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, northeast of the Old City.
The Israeli measure rendered eight individuals from the family homeless.
The IOA had demolished one house in 2015 and three others last March belonging to the same family despite their repeated attempts to license them.
The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without licenses because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers.
The IOA also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in Occupied Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.
Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in the holy city is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from their city.
