IOF kills two Palestinian resistance fighters in attack on W. Bank house

JENIN (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed last night two more Palestinian citizens in the West Bank town of Burqin near Jenin as their large-scale military campaign against the Jenin refugee camp has entered its third day on Thursday.

According to local sources, the IOF killed Mohamed Abul-Asaad and Qutaiba al-Shalabi, resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, following armed clashes with them for about five hours in Burqin town, west of Jenin.

Al-Qassam Brigades mourned Asaad and Shalabi, saying they had carried out the heroic shooting operation in al-Funduq village in the occupied West Bank that killed and injured a number of extremist Jewish settlers earlier this month.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli forces encircled a house last night in Burqin town and showered it with bullets during clashes with resistance fighters inside it before firing projectiles from launchers and drones at it.

Later, IOF reinforcements with a bulldozer stormed the town, seized the martyrs’ bodies and embarked on demolishing the house.

Local sources also said that Israeli soldiers used women as human shields during its violent raid in the town.

Meanwhile, the Red Crescent said its paramedics provided medical assistance for a 60-year-old man before evacuating him to a hospital. This man is reportedly the owner of the house which the IOF demolished in the town.

In a related context, the Israeli army dispatched more reinforcements to Jenin City and its refugee camp last night and on Thursday morning, while Palestinian media sources reported hearing explosions overnight in the area.
