WEST BANK,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched at dawn on Thursday a large-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank in which IOF soldiers apprehended more than 65 Palestinians, mostly former prisoners, and Hamas activists. The arrestees included two women who have been taken to custody after breaking into their homes and wreaking havoc inside them.
The arrest campaigns were carried out in the West Bank provinces of Ramallah, Bethlehem, and al-Khalil. Other arrests were reported in other West Bank cities amid IOF abuse and intimidation with continuous threatening of prisoners’ families with collective punishment.
In Nablus city, the IOF held captive seven citizens including three former prisoners including Amjad al-Sayeh who had spent 19 years in Israeli jails.
In Qalqilya, two ex-detainees were arrested from their houses, while four others were detained in Jenin including the former prisoner Sharif Herzallah who is 19 years old.
In Ramallah, 16 Palestinians were apprehended including two women and an injured man recently shot by IOF soldiers.
In Jericho, four Palestinians were arrested including two brothers and a man with special needs. One of the detained was planning to hold his wedding tomorrow.
The IOF also detained five youths in Bethlehem and 10 others in al-Khalil.
This brings the number of the Palestinian detainees who have been arrested since October 7 to 1,900 prisoners.
Israeli arrest campaigns are one of the Israeli occupation’s systematic collective punishment policies used to eliminate any resistance to the occupation.
