WEST BANK(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested a Red Crescent volunteer at the Ein Siniya checkpoint near Ramallah, in the central West Bank, on Wednesday evening.
The director of the Palestinian Prisoners Society in Tubas, Kamal Bani Odeh, affirmed that “the IOF rounded up Muhammad Iyad Hussein Daraghmeh, 22, a volunteer in the Red Crescent in Tubas, at the Ein Siniya checkpoint on his way back from Ramallah.”
He said that “he was kidnapped from the Red Crescent vehicle after being brutally assaulted.”
The Red Crescent crew was briefly detained, he added.
The Israeli occupation forces launched eight days ago a military operation, the largest since the Operation Defensive Shield in 2002, targeting resistance fighters in the cities of Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas in the northern West Bank, where large Israeli forces invaded all areas, cities and camps in the northern West Bank from several axes.
The Palestinian Health Ministry affirmed that “33 Palestinians were killed and 140 others were injured since the beginning of the Israeli military operation in the West Bank.”
