IOF conducts house demolitions as restrictions tighten in West Bank

RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli occupation forces (IOF) began demolition operations early Wednesday in the town of Shuqba, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said IOF, accompanied by military bulldozers, raided the town and demolished a four-story home belonging to Ibrahim Abu Farah. The IOF was reported to be planning additional demolitions, including residential villas, in the same area.

Elsewhere in the Ramallah district, IOF detained and assaulted a young Palestinian near the “Carmelo” checkpoint close to al-Taybeh junction east of the city. The soldiers also set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Yabrud village, causing severe traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, settler violations continued across the district. In the village of al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, a settler escorted livestock onto Palestinian land near homes. Residents confronted armed settlers during another incursion into the village and forced them off their land.

In a separate incident, a settler entered Yabrud village and blocked a road to graze cattle, further restricting residents’ movement.
