The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched an arrest campaign early Thursday in the city of Dura, south of al-Khalil, kidnaping over 20 Palestinians from different neighborhoods, including ex-detainees.
Local sources reported that a large number of Israeli troops stormed the city from multiple directions, forcibly entering and ransacking dozens of homes, adding that over 20 young men were taken prisoner during the campaign.
Among the detainees was ex-detainee Ali al-Harroub, who had to turn himself in after Israeli forces threatened to kidnap his mother.
The raid in Dura sparked skirmishes between local youths and Israeli soldiers, who fired tear gas and rubber bullets. The IOF also sealed off the city’s entrances and set up military checkpoints to restrict residents’ movement.
