TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation army’s violent raids in the northern West Bank entered day 18 in Tulkarem City and its refugee camp and day 5 in Nur Shams refugee camp on Thursday, amid ongoing arrests, raids on homes, destruction of public and private property, and forced displacement of citizens.
According to local sources, the Israeli army continued to destroy more roads, cars, and homes and terrorize families in Tulkarem City and the refugee camps of Tulkarem and Nur Shams.
At dawn, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped several young men from their homes in Tulkarem’s Dhanabah suburb and another one from the western neighborhood of the city.
The Israeli army reportedly sent more reinforcements last night to Tulkarem City and its refugee camps and tightened its siege on their neighborhoods.
Local sources said that the IOF turned more homes into military posts in Tulkarem City, especially in the eastern area, al-Muqata’ah street and Abu Safiya junction, while preventing the local residents from leaving their homes or even opening windows.
The sources added that the IOF intensively and randomly opened fire in Tulkarem camp, especially in al-Matar neighborhood, broke into and ransacked dozens of homes, and used some of them as military posts and watchtowers.
Meanwhile, besieged people in Tulkarem camp appealed for providing them with food supplies, drinking water, medicines, and baby milk.
In Nur Shams camp, IOF bulldozers continued to destroy homes and infrastructure in different neighborhoods, mainly in al-Manshiya, amid sounds of gunfire and explosions.
Israeli soldiers also forced more families to leave Nur Shams camp on foot, amid intensive gunfire.
