IOF kidnaps several Palestinians in W. Bank raids

WEST BANK  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped on Thursday a number of Palestinian citizens during dawn and morning raids in the West Bank.

According to local sources, Israeli soldiers disguised as civilians infiltrated into the Old City of Nablus at dawn before they were followed by military reinforcements, which spread in different streets.

The sources said that the IOF kidnaped a young man after ransacking his home in the Old City of Nablus.

Israeli soldiers also kidnaped a young man and savagely assaulted four others during a raid in Burqa village, northwest of Nablus.

Another young man was kidnaped by the IOF from his home in Jabel ash-Shamali neighborhood in Nablus.

Two other citizens were taken prisoners during IOF raids in at-Tayba village, northwest of Jenin, and Jannatah town in Bethlehem.

Israeli forces with one bulldozer reportedly stormed Tamun town in Tubas and raided several homes, with no reported arrests.

The IOF also carried out raids on homes in other areas of the West Bank, without making arrests.

Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has jailed or detained over 11,700 Palestinian citizens from the West Bank and Jerusalem, including 435 women and 765 children, according to Palestinian figures.

During the same period, the IOF kidnaped 135 Palestinian journalists, including women, from the West Bank and Gaza. 58 journalists are still in detention.

According to Palestinian organizations defending prisoners’ rights, those Palestinian detainees have been exposed to different violations during and after their detention.

For long years, the IOF has been carrying out regular raids in the West Bank and Jerusalem, but such raids have escalated with the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
