IOF kidnaps several Palestinians in W. Bank raids

WEST BANK  (Palestine Foundation Information Center)  The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped on Wednesday a number of Palestinian citizens during dawn and morning raids in the West Bank, mainly in the northwest of Ramallah.

According to local sources, the IOF raided last night dozens of homes in Arura village in the northwest of Ramallah, turned a house into an interrogation center, and detained and questioned over 20 citizens before releasing them.

The sources said that the IOF campaign in Arura, which started last night, was ongoing in the morning, adding that Israeli forces also stormed other areas of Ramallah province, including Shuqba village, Qibya town, Abwein village, and al-Jalazon refugee camp.

Meanwhile, the IOF kidnaped two young men from their homes during raids in Beit Rima town and al-Jalazon camp in Ramallah.

In Bethlehem, Israeli forces kidnaped three citizens, including a child, from their homes in the city and al-Deheisha refugee camp.

Seven other citizens were taken prisoners during IOF raids in different areas of Qalqilya province.

The IOF also kidnaped once citizen from al-Khalil and seven others at the Deir Sharaf checkpoint in the northwest of Nablus.

Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has jailed or detained over 11,900 Palestinian citizens from only the West Bank and Jerusalem, including 435 women and 790 children, according to Palestinian figures.

During the same period, the IOF kidnaped 136 Palestinian journalists, including women, from the West Bank and Gaza. 58 journalists are still in detention.

According to Palestinian organizations defending prisoners’ rights, those Palestinian detainees have been exposed to different violations during and after their detention.

At least 47 prisoners, whose identities were announced, had been martyred since October 2023, including 29 martyrs from Gaza, according to new figures released by the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner Society, and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association.

Those rights group expressed their belief that there are dozens of Gazan detainees who were martyred in Israeli jails and detention camps, but the Israeli occupation army has not disclosed their names.
