WEST BANK(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank at dawn on Friday, while continuing the aggression on Jenin for the third day in a row.
In Jenin, Israeli special forces surrounded a house in Zababdeh town belonging to the Abu al-Nida family, amid large military reinforcements and heavy gunfire.
The IOF continued, for the third day, their extensive military aggression and invasion of Jenin and its camp, in the northern West Bank, amidst widespread destruction of the city’s infrastructure, streets, and public and private facilities.
During the three-day aggression, electricity was cut off throughout the Jenin camp, while infrastructure and buildings were extensively destroyed.
The IOF also demolished parts of the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin.
Local sources reported that IOF troops launched a large-scale search campaign in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin in the early morning hours, and abused and arbitrarily detained local residents.
The Israeli forces also raided several homes in the vicinity of the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque, subjected citizens to harsh field investigations, and arrested a number of them.
Last night, new military reinforcements were sent into the city and its refugee camp, where military bulldozers and vehicles forced their way into the area and carried out a systematic destruction of infrastructure and bulldozing operations.
The death toll in Jenin rose to 8 after the killing of the young man Muhammad Arabi, 32, on Thursday morning. Three other people were injured, one of them is in critical condition.
The Red Crescent Society said in a statement that it transferred 86 citizens after the Israeli forces took control of their homes in several areas of Jenin, including 40 children.
In Nablus, the IOF arrested five citizens at dawn Friday, and stormed Balata refugee camp, east of the city, amidst heavy fire of live ammunition and toxic gas and sound bombs, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.
The IOF also began bulldozing and vandalizing infrastructure inside the camp.
Similar raids were also reported in Bethlehem, after the IOF stormed Husan village, west of the city, and stationed in the “Al-Matina” area at the eastern entrance to the village.
