The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished at dawn Wednesday two Palestinian homes belonging to the families of a martyr and a prisoner in Salfit and Qalqilya.
According to local sources, Israeli forces detonated a house in Hares town belonging to the family of martyr Souf, who carried out a resistance operation about six months ago near the illegal settlement of Ariel in the occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers stormed Hares town in Salfit last night, encircled the house of Souf, forcibly removed his family members from it, assaulted them, and forced other families to leave nearby homes.
They added that the IOF detonated the house at dawn after planting explosives inside it.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army demolished at dawn the house of prisoner Younis Hailan in Hajja village.
Local sources said that the IOF used bulldozers to knock down a house belonging to the family of prisoner Hailan.
Prisoner Hailan has been in jail since October 25, 2022 after he stabbed and killed a Jewish settler in al-Funduq village, east of Qalqilya.
Various types of collective punishment, such as home demolitions and large-scale movement restrictions against entire Palestinian areas or communities based on the actions of a few people, are among the policies that Israeli authorities have relied on to systematically oppress Palestinians, Human Rights Watch said in a report last February.
