NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) ordered on Thursday three Palestinian families in Tana village near the town of Beit Furik, southeast of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, to leave their homes within a short period of time.
The supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Targeted Villages, Hassan Melihat said, in a press statement, “Israeli occupation forces stormed the Al-Tura area in Tana village and ordered three families to leave within a short period of time, further worsening the life of the residents who have already been living under harsh conditions as a result of the ongoing Israeli restrictive policies.”
Melihat confirmed that this measure is part of the ongoing Israeli attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinians from their lands, aiming at taking control over the area and expanding the surrounding Jewish-only settlements.
Melihat pointed out that the village of Tana is considered one of the most affected areas by Israeli occupation policies, as it has been repeatedly subjected to large-scale demolitions of homes and agricultural facilities as well as preventing the residents from reconstruction or even access to basic services.
Israeli violations against the village date back to more than 15 years ago because of its strategic location on the western slopes of the Jordan Valley.
