BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces assassinated the Qassam Brigades (QB) commander, Muhammad Ibrahim Shaheen, “Abu Al-Bara”, in an airstrike that targeted his vehicle in the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon on Monday.
The QB, the armed wing of Hamas, confirmed in a statement the assassination of commander Shaheen in the Israeli airstrike.
The Brigades mourned the martyr, praising his dedication to and pioneering role in the Palestinian resistance.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the car that was targeted was Hyundai Elantra and was passing on the coastal road that leads to the northern entrance of Sidon towards Beirut, adding that it turned into a ball of fire.
Muhammad Shaheen was the brother of martyr Hamza Shaheen, who was also a QB commander.
Hebrew media confirmed the strike, adding that Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu left his trial session to ratify the liquidation operation in Lebanon.
Hamas’s armed wing reiterated its commitment to continue resisting the Israeli occupation until final liberation and return.
