Israel continues genocide, kills Hamas spokesman

GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli forces have continued their renewed military offensive on the Gaza Strip for the tenth day in a row, carrying out intensified airstrikes and bombarding homes and shelters with civilians inside, in what has been described as a relentless escalation of collective punishment and mass killing.

According to medical sources, dozens of Israeli airstrikes were launched across Gaza during the sacred observance of Laylat al-Qadr, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

In one of the deadliest attacks, six Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli strike on the al-Gharbawi family home on Ahmad Yassin Street in the al-Saftawi area north of Gaza City. Among the victims were Ashraf al-Gharbawi, his wife, and their children, who were all killed inside their home.

In a separate targeted strike, Israeli forces assassinated Abdul Latif al-Qanou, spokesperson for the Hamas Movement, during a pre-dawn raid on Jabalia al-Balad, in northern Gaza.

Local sources reported that Israeli aircraft bombed a tent housing Hamas spokesman Abdul Latif al-Qanou, killing him instantly.

Local sources reported that the tent he was sheltering in was deliberately targeted.

Israeli aircraft also launched renewed airstrikes on other areas of Gaza City. At the same time, additional attacks targeted a displacement tent sheltering civilians in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis, resulting in at least one death and multiple injuries.

According to civil defense teams, the tent belonged to the Zarab family and was hit in Be’er 19 area, south of Mawasi, leaving one person dead and ten others injured, including a critically wounded individual.

Further strikes were reported near Al-Quds Open University in western Gaza City, where one person was killed and others wounded, and in central Qarara, north of Khan Yunis, where more injuries were confirmed following the bombing of a residential home.

Since the resumption of the Israeli assault on 18 March 2025, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,660 injured, the majority of whom are women and children.

The Israeli genocide, which began on 7 October 2023, has resulted in over 163,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, with women and children comprising the overwhelming majority. Additionally, more than 11,000 individuals remain missing, many believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
