BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli army has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon for several times since the agreement came into effect last Wednesday, as Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT) Major General Jasper Jeffers arrived in Beirut on Saturday to co-chair the implementation and monitoring mechanism for the cessation of war in Lebanon.
The Israeli army committed 14 violations of the ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese Islamic Resistance, bringing its total breaches to 32, according to a toll prepared by the Anadolu Agency based on data of the Lebanese News Agency.
According to separate news published by the agency and a statement of the Israeli army, the violations were focused on Friday in the district of Marjayoun in the Nabatiyeh Governorate (south) and the Tyre district in the southern governorate.
The attacks varied between airstrikes, artillery and tanks shelling, and gunfire from machine guns, in addition to incursions, land leveling and home demolition, and uprooting olive trees, amid continuous flight of drones.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Israeli army committed 18 violations of the ceasefire agreement, launching attacks that mainly focused on southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army confirmed Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement several times, while it has been prohibiting the residents of dozens of villages in southern Lebanon from returning to their homes, until a further notice.
