The Israeli occupation army launched new airstrikes on the southern Lebanese towns of Shuhour and Deir Kifa, on Wednesday afternoon, just one hour after issuing an evacuation warning to residents in the area.
In a statement, the Israeli military claimed it began targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Israeli army had warned residents of Deir Kifa and Shuhour to evacuate, alleging that Hezbollah elements were using locations in the area for military purposes.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed the killing of one person and the injury of 11 others as a result of an Israeli airstrike on the town of Tayr Harfa in southern Lebanon earlier on Wednesday.
The Israeli army later announced the assassination of a Hezbollah member in the same town, claiming the individual was working to rebuild Hezbollah’s military capabilities in the region.
According to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency, Israeli aircraft targeted a car with two missiles in the town, causing injuries and significant material damage to vehicles and civilian property.
Sources indicated that shrapnel from the missiles also struck a school bus passing through the area, injuring several children.
