West Bank operations by Israeli forces lead to multiple arrests

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale campaign of raids and arrests across various parts of the West Bank early Thursday, detaining around 30 Palestinian citizens, 21 of whom were later released after field interrogations.

According to the PIC correspondent, 21 Palestinians were detained from the village of Salem, east of Nablus in the northern West Bank. Many of them were former prisoners, and all were released following field questioning.

In the northwest of Occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces stormed the home of the political writer and researcher Sari Orabi in Rafat village and arrested him. Orabi is a former detainee who had spent several years in Israeli prisons.

The IOF also re-arrested another former prisoner after raiding his home in Arura village north of Ramallah.

In the same village, two other citizens, a father and son, were arrested after their home was searched.

Further north of Ramallah, the IOF also arrested a young man during a raid on the village of Qarawat Bani Zeid, according to local sources.

Two Palestinians were also detained in Qalqilya city in the northern West Bank and Beit Wazan, west of Nablus.

The PIC reporter added that four citizens were arrested from al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus.

Additionally, the Israeli forces stormed several areas across the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem, searching homes and ransacking belongings.

Local residents reported that the raids extended to Kafr Aqab north of Jerusalem, parts of Qalqilya including the Qara’an neighborhood, and parts of Nablus, particularly the northern mountain neighborhood, through the Huwara and Deir Sharaf military checkpoints. The town of al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya was also included.

Raids further extended to Bal’a, east of Tulkarem, the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah, as well as central Ramallah, where Israeli forces fired sound and tear gas grenades, including during their raid on the city of al-Bireh.

Local sources added that the IOF also stormed the village of Dar az-Zeir south of Bethlehem, conducting arrests, along with raids in Tamun south of Tubas, Husan west of Bethlehem, and the city of Jericho, as part of a continuous and widespread Israeli military campaign throughout the West Bank.
