GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday evening that the Israeli army received items from the International Committee of the Red Cross believed to belong to an Israeli captive in the Gaza Strip.
In a brief statement, the office explained that the relevant authorities are examining the belongings and the samples transferred from the Strip, in preparation for sending them to the forensic institute to complete the required technical analysis.
Last Tuesday, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, in coordination with the al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad, handed over the body of an Israeli captive as part of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” agreement reached with Israel.
Palestinian resistance factions have also returned 26 bodies of captives out of 28 that remain in Gaza, in accordance with the agreement reached under US pressure. In return, Israel released roughly 2,000 Palestinian detainees from its prisons and returned the bodies of hundreds of Palestinian victims to the Strip.
