WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has declared its intent to annex approximately 137 dunums of Palestinian land in several areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
According to Palestinian officials on Thursday, the IOA delivered a notice of its intention to annex these dunums in al-Bireh City, the towns of Silwad, Ein Yabrud, Beitin, and Burqa (east of Ramallah and al-Bireh province), and the town of Mukhmas in the northeast of Jerusalem.
Al-Bireh municipality said that the annexation of these dunums aims to expand Road 60, a settler-only West Bank highway, in the area that stretches from the Sha’ar Binyamin industrial Zone to the British Police junction.
For its part, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said that these swaths of land had already been seized, and that the new annexation notice meant that the IOA activated land grab orders issued in previous years.
