Israeli army continues its large-scale aggression in northern West Bank

WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation army continued on Tuesday its large-scale aggression against Palestinian citizens and their homes in the northern West Bank — which is focused primarily in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas.

The Israeli military operation in the north of the West Bank entered its 15th day in Jenin and its 9th day in Tulkarem today, amid ongoing destruction of homes and property.

Last Sunday, the Israeli army expanded its operation to Tammun town in southern Tubas.

In Jenin, local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) notified the family of martyr Nidal al-Amer of its intent to demolish its house near al-Ansar Mosque.

The source added that the IOF demolished two more houses in Jenin camp.

Meanwhile, Palestinian citizens reported hearing sounds of multiple explosions coming from the camp as a result of the detonation of homes and buildings by Israeli forces.

In this regard, UNRWA said on Monday that “large swathes of Jenin camp were completely destroyed in a series of controlled detonations by the Israeli security forces.”

“Residents of the camp have endured the impossible, facing nearly two months of unceasing and escalating violence. In the last months, Jenin camp has been rendered a ghost town,” UNRWA affirmed

“The operations conducted both by Israeli and Palestinian security forces have led to the forced displacement of thousands of camp residents, many of whom will now have nowhere to return to. The basics of life are gone,” UNRWA added.

In Tulkarem, the IOF continued last night and today to storm and ransack homes, destroy infrastructure, and displace and kidnap local residents.

Local sources said that the IOF continued throughout last night to dispatch more reinforcements to Tulkarem City and its camp and deploy more soldiers in different neighborhoods and alleys, amid raids on homes.

The IOF also turned more commercial and residential buildings in Tulkarem and its camp into military posts and sniper positions.

Like in Jenin, the widespread Israeli destruction of infrastructure in Tulkarem has also left the residents without access to essential services like water, electricity, internet, and communications. There is also a severe shortage of food, medical supplies, drinking water, and other vital needs.

Tulkarem governor Abdullah Kameel said that the IOF forced more than 75 percent of Tulkarem camp residents to flee their homes as a result of its ongoing attacks and violations.

The IOF also continues to besiege the hospitals of Thabet Thabet and al-Israa in Tulkarem City and obstruct the movement of ambulances and medical personnel.

In Tubas, the IOF attacks and siege on al-Fari’ah refugee camp and Tamun town entered its third day, amid raids on homes, arrests and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
