OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation police kidnaped on Wednesday evening Sheikh Najeh Bakirat, former deputy head of the Islamic Awqaf Administration in the holy city, from his car near al-Maghariba Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Local sources said that Israeli police officers confiscated Sheikh Bakirat’s car and took him to the Moskobiya detention center, where he was interrogated for about two hours and then handed an order banning his entry to the Aqsa Mosque for one week.
Sheikh Bakirat was also ordered to come again to the detention center a week later to receive a six-month extension to his banishment from the Mosque.
The Israeli police also kidnaped Sheikh Bakirat’s son, Dawoud, during his presence at one of the Aqsa Mosque’s gates.
Dawoud was taken to the Qishla police station, where he was handed an order banning his entry to the Mosque for one week.
