JENIN (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli settlers on Monday stormed the town of Jaba’, south of Jenin, and seized Palestinian agricultural land in it, as Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and other groups of settlers attacked Palestinian villages in the governorates of Nablus and Qalqilya in the northern West Bank.
The owner of the seized land in Jenin, Sa’d Fashafsheh, said the attacking settlers stormed his agricultural land and began plowing and cultivating it under the IOF protection.
Fashafsheh added that the settlers had previously seized his 20-dunum land, adding that he had been attacked by settlers more than once.
In Qalqilya governorate, the IOF abused the residents during their raids on the villages of Immatin and Hajja towns east of Qalqilya, confiscated surveillance camera recordings, and closed the eastern entrance of Qalqilya city after targeting citizens with gas grenades.
Meanwhile, the IOF closed the Awarta checkpoint and blocked traffic on the road to the Huwara town in Nablus governorate, while settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles near the village of Burin, south of Nablus.
The IOF raids extended to areas in the towns of Beit Furik, Asira al-Qibliya, Madama and Yetma, where Israeli troops broke into and searched citizens’ homes, leading to the eruption of clashes that resulted in the injury of two soldiers as a gas bomb exploded inside a military jeep.
Israeli settlers were stationed on the main roads between Yetma Junction and Aqraba Junction, threw stones at citizens’ vehicles and torched a Palestinian car near the Huwara roundabout on the new road without causing any injuries.
The IOF also opened fire, from the northern entrance of Salfit city near the Ariel settlement, at a Palestinian truck and hit it directly, but the driver managed to escape unharmed.
